Symbat Akhatbek is a senior associate with strong experience in corporate and commercial law, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), employment law, and financing and investment projects. - Advised ALES on a significant infrastructure project involving the phased decommissioning of an outdated coal-fired power unit and its replacement with a combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) facility with an installed capacity of up to 600 MW.
- Advised China Energy Overseas Investment Co. Ltd on a strategic energy project in Kazakhstan involving the negotiation and review of the Investment Agreement (IA) and Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).
- Advised a Leader in energy transition power company on financing and project agreements to ensure compliance with local laws for a 1GW project in the South-East of Kazakhstan.
