Aidar’s career includes serving as Vice President of Legal Affairs at Air Astana and Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V., where he managed legal departments and provided strategic counsel on cross-border projects, regulatory frameworks, and disputes with state authorities and private entities. His background also encompasses dispute resolution in financial markets. Aidar’s extensive experience spans the oil and gas, mining, aviation, and infrastructure sectors, with significant involvement in licensing, permitting, privatisation, and large-scale investment projects. He has represented clients in arbitration and litigation, engaged in negotiations with government bodies, and contributed to the development of Kazakhstan’s legal framework for hydrocarbon exploration, production sharing agreements, and competition law. In addition, Aidar holds a Master’s degree in Competition Law.
