Malika is a Junior Associate at Unicase specialising in dispute resolution, arbitration support, and regulatory matters. She assists senior lawyers in commercial litigation before Kazakhstan courts, AIFC Court proceedings, and arbitration matters administered by the IAC and various foreign arbitral institutions. Her work includes drafting procedural submissions, organising evidence bundles, supporting appeal and cassation filling, and assisting with the enforcement of foreign arbitral awards.

Supported litigation team acting for a major Chinese oil and gas investor in an administrative dispute challenging a Ministry of Energy tariff order. Work included preparing supplementary submissions, assisting with the drafting of the cassation appeal, translating procedural documents, and coordinating electronic filings and procedural steps throughout the dispute.

Assisted litigation team in representing a prominent Kazakhstani state-owned power producer in an arbitration jurisdiction dispute before the AIFC International Arbitration Centre. Responsibilities included drafting the response to the claimant’s referral request and preparing supporting documentation for the jurisdictional phase.

Supported litigation team representing a leading Chinese heavy-duty vehicle and equipment manufacturer in the enforcement of a CIETAC arbitral award in Kazakhstan. Tasks included preparing filing materials, translations, and procedural documents required for the recognition and enforcement proceedings.

Assisted litigation team in a high-value project involving a major Kazakh oil pipeline operator concerning the enforcement of independent bank guarantees. Contributed to drafting objections, preparing evidence summaries and legal arguments, and supporting the preparation of procedural filings, including cassation level submissions.

Supported litigation team in debt-recovery proceedings for a global consumer goods corporation before Kazakhstan courts. Work included drafting the statement of claim, preparing supporting materials, and assisting with the initiation of enforcement based on the issued writ of execution.

Provided legal research and analysis for the litigation team on AIFC regulatory practice relating to directors’ duties, liability and non-market transactions, preparing written advice and clarifications for internal corporate governance matters.

Assisted litigation team on advising the international asset management group on the registration of two representative offices in the AIFC,coordinating with AFSA on regulatory documentation, systems and controls, and data-protection compliance requirements.
