  • Represented the Kazakhstan subsidiary of a Singaporean company in the commercial dispute, protected the interests of a foreign investor involved in the construction of a 100 MW solar power plant in southern Kazakhstan, with a project value of approximately 1 billion USD.

  • Represented a prominent Kazakhstan quasi-state power producer in an IAC arbitration concerning the termination of an EPC contract for the modernisation of a heat and power plant.

  • Advised the syndicate of commercial and development banks, Chinese, Middle Eastern and other export-import banks, international lenders and financial institutions on the project of the borrower seeking to raise a 15-year long-term project financing with full-recourse guarantees from the sponsors on a several and not joint basis. Conducted due diligence of the borrower, participated in drafting, revising, and negotiating the finance documents, including pledge agreements governed by Kazakhstani, Hong Kong, and English law.

  • Advised a leading Chinese state-owned enterprise on its 300 MW solar and 500 MW wind power plants projects with an integrated Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Turkestan and Karaganda regions in Kazakhstan. Unicase supported the client in legal due diligence of a Kazakh quasi-state entity for the joint venture and provided a detailed report on Kazakhstan’s renewable energy regulatory framework.
