Update on the International Atyrau Legal Conference which took place in September.

On 13 September, Unicase Partner, Raushana Chaltabayeva, represented the Firm at the 18th International Atyrau Legal Conference organised by the Kazakhstan Petroleum Lawyers’ Association (KPLA) and the Tengizchevroil. For over 20 years, the International Atyrau Conference has been a flagship event hosted by KPLA and Tengizchevroil, dedicated to the oil and gas industry, and its leading professionals.

This year, the conference gathered 200+ experts and opened discussions about Kazakhstan’s investment climate, further exploring key factors, risks, regulatory challenges, and growth opportunities within the sector. Following the official proceedings, attendees were invited to a gala dinner, and the next morning, a traditional picnic provided a relaxed setting for further networking.

Raushana Chaltabayeva talked about risk mitigation strategies in her “Foreign Investment in Kazakhstan’s Oil and Gas Sector: Mitigating Risks in M&A Transactions” presentation, highlighting effective ways to overcome challenges and leverage opportunities in this dynamic industry.
